Dear Patients and Caregivers

This is an unprecedented time in our country and in our community, and we must take extraordinary measures to keep our patients, employees and visitor safe. The current Coronavirus pandemic is one that is continuously changing how we work and live in our community. As the effects of this virus changes how we function daily, we must adjust how we approach your medical care to keep you and your loved ones safe and healthy along with our staff. With this in mind, we have instituted the following changes to how we care for you.

Please call us before coming to a medical facility if you are sick with fever, cough or think you may have been exposed. Also if you have already been tested for the COVID 19. Please do not enter clinic until we have given you proper instructions.

Durham Family Medicine is working to continue providing exceptional care and in doing so may need to reschedule some non-emergent or non-critical appointments. If there are changes to your care, you will be contacted by us. Our providers and medical staff are
working to determine if a reschedule is necessary based on many important factors most important being the well-being of our patients.

We have telemed options for possibly sick, follow ups or medication refills. Please call the front desk to get more information.

The following patients may have one visitor:

Minors under age 18 one parent or guardian

Patients who have altered mental status, developmental delays mobility, impaired memory or caregiver need

Patients who have communication requirements

Patients who need a healthcare decision maker

We believe that taking this step now is in the best interest of all as we respond to the spread of COVID-19. We understand the impact this will have on you. The more we do to help control the spread of COVID-19, the sooner we will be able to return to normal processes and procedures – at the DFM and in our community.
